Well, this is really quite special: well done on producing such a distinctive film opening. 1.You signal genre clearly from the start and create both enigma (the aloof character of John and the contents of the box)... 2...and jeopardy (the thunder and lightning, the shadowy mansion, the mysterious noises). 3.You create an authentic period mise-en-scene with the location, candlelight, fire side, clothing, RP accent. 4. The sound track imaginatively combines Edgar Allan Poe's poem 'The Raven' with faultlessly synchronized dialogue when John cuts into the poem to take up the dialogue. 5. The voice over is rendered beautifully by your careful diction, bringing out the trochaic octameter of the poem to convey a musical, hypnotic quality that is mesmerising. 6. Great continuity editing. 7. Imaginative titles in After Effects. 6. I think that some of it is too dark, though.
